1. What Data Do We Receive?
We collect scertain information directly from you, such as information you enter yourself, data about
your content usage, and data from third-party platforms you connect with ABIS. We also automatically
collect some data, such as information about your device and which of our Services you interact with or
spend time using.
1.1 Data You Provide to Us
We may collect different data from or about you depending on how you use the Services. Below are some
examples to help you better understand the data we collect.
When you create an account and use the Services (including use through a third party), we collect data
you provide directly, including:
Account Data
To use some features (e.g. access content) you need to create a user account, which requires us to
collect and store your email address, password and account settings. To create an instructor account, we
collect and store your name, email address, password and account settings. When using certain features
on the site, you may be asked to provide additional information, including occupation, official
identification, verification photo, date of birth, race/ethnicity, competencies of interest, and phone
number. After the account creation process is complete, we will assign you a unique ID number.
Profile Data
You can also choose to provide profile information such as a photo, title, resume, language, website
link, social media profiles, country or other data. Your Profile Data will be publicly viewable by
others.
Shared Content
Some of the Services allow you to interact with other users and share content publicly, including by
posting comments on content, asking or answering questions, sending messages to students or instructors,
or posting photos or other work you have uploaded. Such shared content may be publicly viewed by others,
depending on where it is posted.
Education Content Data
Which courses, assignments, hands-on work, areas of study, and tests you begin and complete when you
access the content; your purchased content and credits; your subscriptions; your certificates of
completion; We collect certain data, including your interactions with instructors, teaching assistants,
and other students, and articles, answers to questions, and other items submitted to meet course and
related content requirements. If you are an instructor, we store your training content that may contain
data about you.
Student Payment Data
When you make a purchase, we collect certain data about your purchase (such as your name, billing
address and zip code) as necessary to process your order, and this data may optionally be recorded to
process future orders. You must provide certain payment and billing data directly to our payment service
providers, such as your name, credit card information, billing address and zip code. We may also collect
limited information, such as the last four digits of your card number and the fact that you have a new
card, from our payment service providers to facilitate payment transactions. For security reasons, ABIS
does not collect or store sensitive cardholder data such as complete credit card numbers or card
authentication data.
Instructor Payment Data
If you are an instructor, you can receive payments by linking your PayPal or Payoneer account or other
payment accounts to the Services. When you link a payment account, your payment account email address,
account ID, physical address, etc., are required for us to send payments to your account. we collect and
use information. In some cases, we may collect your ACH or wire transfer information to send payments to
your account. We also work with trusted third parties who collect data information as legally required
for compliance purposes. This tax information; This may include residence information, tax
identification numbers, biographical information and other personal information required for taxation
purposes. For security purposes, ABIS does not collect or store sensitive bank account information.
